Yin-Ju Chen
Artist's Statement
|
My works are all indicative of particular emotions I had or moods I was in at the time. They speak of boredom, confusion, dehumanization, cruelty, and paranoia ¿ ideas that are symptomatic of America and the state of the union.
Sometimes living here, one is made to feel small and unimportant.War is an extreme example of the everyday emptiness and hidden violence of the American dream.
Video has been my primary artistic medium. My works also include photo performances, installations, and drawings.
