Artist's Statement
|
I am a multi-disciplinary artist working in installation, sculpture, photography, light and events-based work. My practice is concerned with space and the interactions between the private and the public within these environments. Social engagement and participation are key elements to the research, production and final presentation of my artwork. My work is very site specific, responding to the conditions and specifications of a particular environment and audience. Ideas of locality and collective histories (my own and of others) are central themes. I use everyday reference points that can commonly understood (ie eating together, portrait photography) as means to open my practice for engagement and participatation.
