Gordon Cheung
Artist's Statement
|
Gordon CheungÍs landsacpes oscillate between the Utopic and Dystopic. Spray paint, oil, acrylic, pastels, Financial Times and ink collide in his works to form epic techno-sublime vistas which are as one critic described ïas bold and cold as a Warhol screenprintÍ. Cheung graduated from the Royal College of Arts, won many awards, residencies and selected for numerous competitions. He is currently exhibiting in what is regarded as the most important exhibition in the UK art calender; The British Art Show 6, touring for 1 year starting at the BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art organised by the Hayward Gallery. His work has recently beeen acquired by Stephane Janssen for extended loan to the Arizona State Museum.
