Biography
|
Jun was born in Japan and has been acting in Japanese projects since 1989 and subsequently in Chinese and British projects.
Since appearing in the Cannes International Film Festival winner "Devils on the Doorstep" (he is the soldier on the front cover of the DVD - first picture below) he has been based in London. In the 35th anniversary of the China - Japan friendship year, Jun was the only Japanese actor cast in CCTV? (Central Chinese Television) history drama "The Roof Tile of Tempyo -Ganjin" (16 episodes). In this series, he plays one of the leading roles, monk Fusho. He also appears in the CCTV (32 episodes) history drama "Taiwan 1895" as the former prime minister Aritomo Yamagata, in Channel 4's documentary drama "Days of the Kamikaze " as Nobuaki Fujita, and in the Chinese film "Pure Love" all of which are due for broadcast / release shortly.
He is now due to act a lead role in Li Shu's "The Shadow of the Spies", and act in award-winning director, Lu Chuan's film "Nanking! Nanking!" in China later this year. He will also appear as a guest performer in The Mugensha Theatre Company? play at Theatro Technis, Islington and Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK.
He seeks wider opportunities across the world and has set up the website ?apan via London with fellow Japanese artists to help bridge and communicate between Japanese and British culture. Jun is keen on fostering Sino-Japanese friendships and helps support an elementary school in rural China and the work of the Ganjin Museum in China.
