Artist's Statement
|
 Chi2 are Chinese Brit-born violinists/composers Sarah and Liz Liew. Their sound is a cross-pollination of their Chinese roots and own individual music sensibility.
Described as 'double violin assault specialists' they fuse electronic beats and effects with melodies and improvisations on both electric and Chinese violins and keyboards, layered with angelic vocals. Their dynamic live show combines melodic banter with lashings of effects and textural disharmony, to the backdrop of specially commissioned visuals and live-cam.
Drawing on inspiration from their recent tours of South-East Asia, their love of Chinese cinema and their genepool, Chi2 dish up a charismatic blend of 'East meets West' rhythms and melodies.
Although now concentrating on their solo career as Chi2, they have toured internationally with Moby for 4 years and have played/recorded with Lamb, Boy George, KLF/Orb, Barry Adamson and Anastacia amongst others.
Chi2 are currently working on a multi-media project inspired by Beijing Opera.

CHi2 are dynamic and versatile classically trained violinists with extensive experience touring, performing, recording, writing strings arrangements for diverse artists & bands including MOBY, BOY GEORGE, CYNDI LAUPER, LAMB, ANASTACIA, BARRY ADAMSON, GOLDFRAPP, KLF / THE ORB, URIAH HEEP.
