Myung Hee Han

Artist's Biography
Korea born artist, Myung Hee Han is a performer/ Director working in Dance, Live Art and Theatre trained in the Korean traditional performing arts and devising physical theatre. She is also a qualified drama therapist and drama teacher specializing in voice/ movement. Currently, she is an artistic director of TiAT Moo.
Having started her theatre career in 1991 with straight acting, she has trained with Korean traditional performing arts: Pansori (1994 2002), Korean Martial Art (1990-2001), Korean traditional dance, percussion and puppetry. She has been teaching and performing in theatre plays as well as traditional performing arts, including international tour.
Since late 90s, she has been more engaged with devising theatre collaborating with visual artists. During and after her training of dramatherapy and Jacques Lecoq methods in U.K., she has been looking for the way in which the performer can be the centre of the creation process by projecting their internal images on to time and space and developing rapport point with audience to share rather than show. Her recent work has been seen as object theatre often perceived as ritualistic and visual performance.
